Support for organizing and coordinating volunteer work

Recruiting volunteers is not always easy or fast. First and foremost, it calls for lowering the threshold for ordinary people to lend their helping hand to fellow citizens in need, in a way they find meaningful and rewarding. 

In our training sessions and discussion groups, you will share tried-and-true advice and tips from your peers and our NGO specialists on how to get volunteers to make a lasting commitment to your cause. Seasoned NGO veterans and newcomers alike will benefit from our events, workshops and trainings. We are also constantly developing the ways we train and prepare NGOs and volunteers to accomplish their challenging tasks while creating positive social impacts.      

NGOs are always welcome to present their volunteer opportunities at our regular NGO fairs around Espoo, where potential volunteers are often met and signed-on for the first time. From time to time, we invite volunteer coordinators to have a chat over a cup of coffee with us and each other at a special “Coordinators’ coffee hour”. Besides face-to-face meetings, we can guide you around on the Lähellä.fi digital portal when new volunteers are searched for.
