Suvi Heinonen began her role as a Digital Media Designer at HyTe ry on 1.8.2024. Suvi has a degree in Digital Design and is a Bachelor of Arts. She will be working on various communication tasks such as HyTe ry’s newsletter, as well as in the design of Lähellä.fi.
”I was at HyTe for an internship as a Designer and I’m very excited to continue this fall as a full employee. The work’s meaningfulness and positive impact on the surrounding world is especially important to me. It’s important to support and highlight the invaluable work organizations do in our society.”
Suvi hopes to bring more visibility to organizations through her work. Social media and services that support organizations are central to this goal. The services must be user-friendly and approachable for the organizations and other involved parties, so that their popularity would grow. This requires the invisible work of a designer, who examines the different paths users take through the service and how the service communicates its functions to the user without words.
”As a designer, it’s my principle that the user cannot fail at using the service. The service may fail but that isn’t the user’s fault. My goal is to design the service so that it fulfills the user’s needs purposefully and fails as little as possible. Through failure we can learn and design the service in a better direction.”
